Material philosophy. Arifian composition.

Subtle is
a considered whole.

Soft Editorial Materialism is Arifian's interface language for expressive stories and focused software.

Where the identity comes from

Subtle combines editorial composition, tonal materiality, and rounded shape hierarchy. Its eight moods share one typography system, one component anatomy, and one interaction language.

Arifian's canonical design contract defines the colors, type families, shapes, modes, and motion vocabulary. The Tonal Hero, Soft Mosaic, Floating Inspector, Soft Command Bar, Context Capsule, Layered Sheet, Adaptive Header, and Media Surface are authored for Subtle.

Behavior and provenance

Base UI supplies accessible behavior for buttons, tabs, dialogs, sheets, and toast notifications. The owned source approach follows shadcn/ui. Presentation uses the Subtle semantic token contract throughout.

The site uses Astro, React, and TypeScript. The independent read-only API uses Elysia on Bun and the official Model Context Protocol TypeScript SDK.

The botanical media is an original vector study created for this site. Every person, project, metric, document, and conversation in the specimens is synthetic. The AI reply is prepared demo text.

Lexend Deca, Inclusive Sans, and JetBrains Mono are the specified font families. See the third-party license notices for dependency and asset provenance.

A public catalog for agents

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) interface exposes published catalog metadata and approved mood tokens through read-only tools and resources. Agents can list, search, and retrieve components, patterns, foundations, and moods.

The API runs on Arifian's VPS and is healthy on a loopback listener. Its public Nginx/TLS ingress is not active yet; the planned agent endpoint is https://subtle-api.arifian.web.id/mcp.

Local connection

For local development, run SUBTLE_API_PORT=33266 bun run dev:api with a free port. Its loopback-only endpoint is http://127.0.0.1:33266/mcp.

Tools: list_catalog, search_catalog, get_catalog_item. Resources use the subtle://catalog/ scheme. Queries are limited to 80 characters, pages to 12 entries, and request bodies to 16 KB.

Only approved public catalog data is exposed. The API has no mutation tools, arbitrary URL fetching, or file access. Local requests are limited per IP. A typed REST catalog is available as a supplement.

Built to stay local

Specimen state stays in your browser. Only the selected mood is persisted in local storage. The showcase includes no analytics, account flows, external fonts, or model integrations.
